Whenever you create a new post in Blogger or WordPress, your blog has comments enabled by default, which is great in most cases. But what if you have a post or page that you don’t want your readers to be able to leave comments on? Luckily, it’s pretty easy to stop a discussion on a page or post before it begins. Here how to do it:
To turn of comments for a specific post or page in Blogger, follow this video tutorial:
If you’re wanting to turn off comments on an old post or would like to turn off the discussion for a single post or page, WordPress gives you a simple way to do that.
First, open the specific post or page in the dashboard that you want to disable the comments on. In the upper right corner, you should see a “Screen Options” button. Click on that and it will reveal some options.
Find the checkbox next to “Discussion” and make sure it is checked. This won’t affect the live page at all – just your back end options.
Now scroll back down under your text editor and you’ll see a new box labeled “Discussion.” Uncheck the “Allow comments” box and that post or page will no longer show comments. This will hide all comments even if there were comments previously left on it.
If you have any questions about any of this, please leave them in the comments and we’ll do our best to answer!
